Opening the nursery

The tunnels are beginning to wake up again here. It’s been a slow start with all the cold and wet but there’s movement now, fresh growth coming through and that feeling that the season is turning.

Live plants are starting to return to the website.

I’ll be adding them gradually over the coming weeks as they’re ready, so if you’ve been waiting for something in particular it’s worth checking in from time to time. Early in the season things can be a little uneven but it’s all beginning again.

Star of the Season

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium)

One of the first plants to really get going in the tunnels each year, Feverfew is a familiar and much valued herb with a long history of traditional use.

With its fresh green leaves and small daisy-like flowers to come, it’s an easy plant to grow and a good one to have close at hand through the season. It thrives in a sunny spot with well-drained soil and will happily self-seed once established.

A simple, steady presence in the garden and one that earns its place year after year.

Upcoming Events

We took the Pretty Wild Plants stall to the Welshpool Magical Conference again this year. It’s always one of the highlights for us, a chance to step out of the tunnels and meet people face to face.

Alongside established speakers like Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone, it was really good to see so many younger voices there too, both speaking and attending. It felt like something continuing, being carried forward.

Looking Ahead

Over the next few weeks I’ll be focusing on getting more plants ready for the season ahead and slowly building up what’s available online.

Thank you, as always, for being here and supporting the work.
