From Polytunnels to Potions The Apothecary Restock

Hi there, as the polytunnels quieten and the last of the summer plants are tucked in for the year, our work shifts indoors. It’s the season for jars, bottles, labels, and the scent of dried herbs filling the apothecary.
This isn’t a launch, it’s the annual restock, when all the tinctures, oils, teas, and dried herbs made from this year’s harvest finally find their way onto the shelves. Each one has been grown, gathered, and prepared here in Pembrokeshire, from seed to bottle.

New Labels, Familiar Plants

This year’s restock feels especially exciting because we’ve redesigned all our apothecary labels with original illustrations by Welsh artist Jenni Moffitt, who has beautifully captured the spirit of the plants we work with.

It’s been such a joy to see them come to life through her art, each label now feels like a tiny celebration of the plants themselves.

What’s Back in Stock

The apothecary shelves are now freshly filled with:
  • Tonics: Fire Cider, Elderberry Fire Cide
  • Tinctures: Mugwort, Hawthorn, Skullcap, Motherwort, Mullein
  • Oils: Mugwort, Calendula, Nettle
  • Teas: Serenity, Sweet Dreams
  • Dried Herbs: Dittany, Calendula, Mugwort, Mullein, Dyer’s Chamomile, Sagebrush, Sweetgrass, Sweet Wormwood, Sweet Woodruff, and Southernwood
  • Sweetgrass Braids and Pine Cones also available

Everything has been made in small batches using plants grown and harvested through the season, wild, careful, and full of character.

A Note on the Mandrakes

For those who’ve been waiting, a limited number of autumn mandrakes will be available soon. They’ve been quietly growing away, and they’ll be ready for new homes as we move deeper into autumn. Keep an eye on the shop for updates, they never stay in stock for long!

We’ve recently changed how we manage our waitlists, and during that transition a few earlier sign-ups may have been lost in the process. If you’d previously joined the mandrake waitlist, please sign up again or contact me directly, just to be sure your name is still there.

Looking Ahead

Most of our live plant sales have now come to an end for the year, but waiting lists are open for all plants. Adding your name means you’ll be among the first to know when spring stock is ready, making it easy to plan your planting for next year.

It feels good to pause and restock the shelves, knowing that the summer’s wildness will carry on through winter in these bottles and jars. Thank you, as always, for supporting this small, muddy, plant-filled business.
Be well,

Ruth & the Pretty Wild Plants team
