Organically grown Feverfew – Tanacetum parthenium, known in Welsh as Wermod Wen in an 8 cm pot. A charming, aromatic perennial with daisy-like flowers that bloom from midsummer to early autumn. Feverfew typically grows up to 60 cm (24 in) tall, with finely divided, bright green foliage. It has a long history of use in traditional herbal medicine and is prized for its resilience and cheerful presence in the garden.

Uses

Traditionally used to help relieve headaches and migraines. Feverfew is also a companion plant in gardens, said to deter insects and attract beneficial pollinators.

Folklore

Long used for healing and protection, Feverfew was known in medieval times as the “medieval aspirin.” It is associated with Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage and protection, as well as Brigid, the Celtic goddess of healing and poetry. In folklore, Feverfew was planted around homes to ward off illness and negative energy, and carrying it was thought to prevent accidents and misfortune.

Growing Information

Thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun but will tolerate light shade. Drought-tolerant once established. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and prevent self-seeding. Suitable for herb gardens, borders, and wildflower meadows.
