Folklore

A powerful protective herb, Rue has been revered in Mediterranean folklore for centuries. It was considered sacred to Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft, and was used to ward off curses and the evil eye. Romans wore Rue as an amulet against illness and misfortune, and in Christian tradition, it became known as the “Herb of Grace,” used in holy water sprinklings. In folk magic, Rue was used for purification, love spells, and increasing psychic abilities.
